"Flight
Buddies" is the name given to a group of kids interested
in becoming 21st century “Top Gun” aviators. Founded in
2004, the Flight Buddies Foundation, Inc., a nonprofit
organization, has been working with elementary, middle
and high school students to expose them to the field of
aviation.
Flight Buddies® programs aim to inspire and prepare
local youth to someday become leaders and aviators. Our
programs mimic the training of United States military
pilots, emphasizing both academic excellence and
personal fitness, and our rules and regulations
encompass a strict code of behavior and etiquette.
Courses include topics such as basic aviation, space
exploration, aviation careers, land and water survival,
disaster preparedness, health and wellness, physical
fitness, etiquette and leadership. The programs
incorporate classroom instruction, technology, hands-on
projects, outdoor activities, guest speakers, field
trips, scholarship opportunities and more.
The Flight Buddies Foundation, Inc. seeks to collaborate
with local schools, churches, community and recreation
centers to carry out our mission. With the help of
contributions from individuals, businesses and other
organizations, our goal is also to offer these quality
programs at a low cost.
Flight Buddies is pleased to announce our new
partnership with the The Federal Aviation Administration
(FAA). The FAA has partnerships among government
agencies, aviation/aerospace industry, and the
community. These partnerships foster and encourage the
growth of aviation and the enhancement of math and
science in schools. Visit the FAA website for a wealth
of resources for aviation and education. |
